The Garden of the Phoenix is located in Jackson Park, just south of the Museum of Science and Industry. The garden was part of the Japanese contribution to the1893 World's Columbian Exposition, which was held in Chicago. At the close of the Exposition, the Phoenix Pavilion was gifted by Japan to the City of Chicago. The garden was designed and built by garden master designer "Mr. Nozomu Okita" with the cooperation of Phoenix Sister City Himeji garden association.
