Fractal or shuffle for a more exciting game, Continents with Islands for a more normal game, Mediterranean is the only preset map I like at all, it’s actually really fun. I'm really just excited to play Victoria on Small Continents. My problem with canals is that they only cover 1 tile, they should cover from 1 to 3 tiles. Covering three tiles is exactly what the panama canal can do. Plus, if a city is one tile off of a body of water a three tile waterway can be made from coast to city to another coast or lake.

My strat was: -build 4 long ship. -Take Indonesia capital (North west) and leave their second city alone. -Build 5 mines on it over the course and place scouts/warriors with builders on said tiles. -Every 3 turns it will rebel and then proceed to pillage the mines then take the city back then repair the mines.LegitimateOcelot3954. • 1 yr. ago. Sometimes it's multiple big oceans you can connect with good Canal cities and build a super trade empire.
